Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Chloe Bennet says ‘Dark Daisy’ Goes ‘Crazy Using her Powers in Brutal Fashion’

Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson in 'Agents of SHIELD'

***WARNING: This article contains spoilers for last night’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., “The Team” (3×16)***

The Secret Warriors were disbanded just as quickly as (or quicker than) they were assembled.

After a successful mission to rescue S.H.I.E.L.D. team members from Hydra‘s base, Director Phil Coulson began to suspect that one or more of the Inhumans had been infected by Hive. (This based on intel from a surprisingly helpful Gideon Malick who had been captured.)

I was so sure the Inhuman who had fallen prey to Hive’s “sway” would turn out to be Joey. I was even okay with it being Lincoln. But Daisy Johnson? Never saw that coming. (Bravo, AOS writers, for this unexpected twist.)

The ending scenes where Daisy used her powers in an attempt to turn the Playground into a mass grave were breathtaking and heartbreaking. After all this team has been through, to see Daisy turn on her friends and the other Inhumans whom she had worked so hard to bring together, was painful to watch.

So, now that Daisy is… ‘Dark Daisy’ (IGN’s term), what’s next for her new union with Hive?

Chloe Bennet spoke with IGN after the episode aired, and she says we’ll get to see Daisy using her powers in increasingly awesome and awful ways. “She really goes crazy moving forward with how brutal and unexpected and displaying new ways that she’s powerful. We’ll see more of that coming up, which was fun to do.” Bennet added, “she becomes so much more powerful under Hive’s sway. That clearly shows how much she’s been restraining her powers and how much she controls herself.”

The actress, who has been a part of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. since Season 1, Episode 1, also shared some insight that upcoming death of a S.H.I.E.L.D. team member that appears to occur in outer space. She said, “She saw the future and that is going to happen and so I think that’s a 100% in her mind for the rest of the season. It definitely leads to utter heartbreak.”

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 9pm EST on ABC.SuperFable
