Naysayers, be silenced. Apparently, the people really wanted to see Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Despite lukewarm (and outright negative) reviews leading into its opening weekend, the superhero smackdown earned $424 million worldwide, making it the biggest opening ever for a comic book movie.
It also had the fourth-biggest opening ever in movie theater history around the world. The only movies ahead of it are: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
Here in North America, Batman v. Superman didn’t fare as well against its counterparts from Marvel. It comes in sixth overall, behind both Avengers movies and Iron Man 3. Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Jurassic World are also ahead of it for opening weekend box office sales.SuperFable
