Marvel Studios wants Brie Larson to be Captain Marvel aka Carol Danvers.
According to a report by Variety, sources say the Oscar-winning actress is Marvel’s “first choice, and that she’s leaning toward playing the part.”
Marvel didn’t have any comment on the report. And there’s no word yet on where negotiations stand.
While the Captain Marvel movie is a long ways off, Marvel wants to cast the actress early so they can introduce her to audiences in another film before she flies solo.
A director has not been named for the film, but Kevin Feige is producing. The script, which is currently being written by Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman, will “follows Carol Danvers, an air force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident. The resulting alteration imbues her with the super powers of strength, energy projection, and flight.”
Brie Larson won her Oscar for The Room, in which she played a mother held captive by a mentally unstable man. She can next be seen on the big screen in Free Fire.SuperFable
