Captain America: Civil War is Doing “Exceptionally Well” With Test Audiences

Marvel has been screening its latest movie, Captain America: Civil War, for test audiences, and sources say people are responding very well.

Devin Faraci, editor-in-chief of Birth.Movies.Death., declared that the reaction has been “through the roof.” His sources say the upcoming flick is on par with (or better than) Captain America: Winter Soldier, “which had previously been the best-testing Marvel movie.”

Reports also indicate that the movie doesn’t hold anything back in its climax and ending, with Marvel executives being willing to go “dark places.” Maybe we’re talking about a major character’s death or severe injury. Perhaps a permanent rift between Avengers. Who knows?

There are high stakes riding on Captain America: Civil War, as the film launches Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and also introduces two new characters (Spider-Man and Black Panther) who will be getting solo films.

Captain America: Civil War will be in theaters on May 6, 2016.
