If social media trends are to be trusted, DC is about to score big at the box office this year.
According to Variety’s ListenFirst Digital Audience Ratings, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad are tracking 500% stronger than rival comic book movie adaptations. The high level of interest indicates that Warner Bros., which produced both films, is set to have one of its most successful summers ever in theaters.
Other comic book films hitting theaters this year include Captain America: Civil War, Deadpool, and X-Men: Apocalypse.
The ListenFirst Media ranking measures what entertainment content is being talked about and viewed the most on social media sites including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+, Instagram, YouTube, Tumblr, and Wikipedia. (For more on the methodology of this report, click over to Variety.)
