Adria Arjona, who recently starred as Dorothy in Emerald City, has been cast as Anathema Device in Amazon’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s Good Omens.
The author himself revealed the casting on Twitter.
The six-episode comedy series is based on the fantasy novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
According to TVLine, “The story takes place in the near future, as the apocalypse approaches and humanity is about to undergo Final Judgment. It all seems to be unfolding according to Divine Plan… which is not good news to an angel named Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and a demon named Crowley (David Tennant), both of whom have lived among Earth’s mortals since the dawn of time and really rather enjoy their lifestyle.”
Adria Arjona’s character, Anathema Device, is a descendant of Agnes Nutter, an ancient witch.
Gaiman’s tweet also revealed that the series has cast Nina Sosanya as Sister Mary Loquacious of the Chattering Order of St. Beryl, Ned Dennehy as Duke of Hell Hastur, and Ariyon Bakare as Duke of Hell Ligur.
