At long last, Talia al Ghul will appear in the Arrowverse. She, the older sister of Nyssa al Ghul, will be played by Lexa Doig on Arrow.
The iconic DC Comics character and daughter of Ra’s al Ghul, head of the League of Assassins, will first appear in this season’s 10th episode and will have a recurring role on the show.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, she is described as “worldly and cultured, an elite warrior who doesn’t pick sides but rather creates her own.” She is “an expert hand-to-hand fighter, extremely well-trained in most weapons and highly intelligent.”
Talia al Ghul has previously appeared in the Arrowverse as a young girl on Legends of Tomorrow. Her younger sister, Nyssa (played by Katrina Law) had a recurring role on Arrow over three seasons. It’s a given that Nyssa will return to Arrow in a big way as well.
Considering that Talia’s comic book history is closely tied to Batman, questions remain if The CW series will follow source material and introduce the caped crusader in some way.
Arrow producer Marc Guggenheim previously told THR, “At the end of the day, it’d be so awesome to have Batman on the show. That’d be really coo; I don’t think that will be happening anytime soon, but you never know… one day. One thing we’re always saying… we ended up with a lot more DC Comics characters becoming part of the show than we had ever planned.”
Considering the pre-Batman Bruce Wayne on Gotham and the arrival of Superman on Supergirl, it’s not far-fetched to think that the Dark Knight will be arriving on Arrow in some way sooner than we think. It would be ‘awesome.’
Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8pm on The CW.
