Robert Downey Jr. Talks About Possible Iron Man Role in Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man in 'Captain America: Civil War'

As part of his “Marvel Week” broadcasts, Jimmy Kimmel sat down with Robert Downey Jr. to talk about Spider-Man.

The new Peter Parker/Spider-Man — now that the franchise is back with Marvel — is being played by British actor Tom Holland. He will make his debut as the popular webslinger in Captain America: Civil War as a member of #TeamIronMan (at least at first). But, the thing we’re really waiting for is the Spider-Man reboot, titled Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is due next year.

There have been rumors that Tony Stark aka Iron Man will be in that film, perhaps as a father figure to the young Parker. In his interview, Robert Downey Jr. said he’s definitely open to the role, but there’s “no contract yet.”

We’ll wait and see, but it’s a highly likely possibility. Watch below.

Captain America: Civil War is in theaters on May 6th.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is set for release on July 7, 2017.SuperFable
