Coming this fall to the CW: the crossover event to end all crossover events?
As soon as The CW realized that Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl were all in their hands, they rushed out the announcement that an epic four-way crossover would be taking place this winter. But that doesn’t mean it will be easy to pull off.
Arrow actor, Stephen Amell — the first of the CW’s superheroes nonetheless — has some doubts about how that could even work.
Speaking to MTV News, the bow-carrying Oliver Queen said, “They have to show me how they’re going to do this magical four-show crossover. It was hard enough when it was two shows and mixing in ‘Legends’ a little bit. To make it four shows? I’m dumbfounded.”
Yeah, with four shows, at least two (possibly three) timelines, and three different Earths in play, it’s understandable that he feels that way.
Amell added, “I’ve been thinking a lot about this, and I think the writers have as well. We had a discussion, and I said, ‘Look, man, Arrow was set up as a very specific thing, and it’s up to us to do what we do. And what we do, we do better than anyone else on TV.'”
He added, “Part of the price of success is that we’ve had to introduce other shows. We can always get around new powers and people from other planets, but it is important that when all that dust settles that we are focusing on what we do well.”
Does anyone else think it sounds like Amell wouldn’t mind Arrow sitting out this year’s crossover?
