Supergirl has been renewed for another season, but the originally CBS-aired property is moving to The CW.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the freshman drama starring Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers aka Supergirl is also moving its filming operation to Vancouver. The move makes sense as Vancouver is the home of The CW’s other superhero dramas, Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow.
“The show ranks as the No. 1 new CBS drama and fourth-best new series overall among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic,” THR reported. “That’s a hit by The CW standards when compared with fellow DC fare Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash, with Supergirl having already crossed over with the latter.”
Supergirl producer Ari Adler said the show’s second season has already been mapped out. “Season two is going to be more reflective of their past and how they’re going to change their future as a result of it in a really emotional way,” she said. “We definitely want to continue making more of this show.”
Her co-producer, Greg Berlanti, already helms three DC adaptations on The CW along with iZombie, Supernatural, and The 100.SuperFable
