To hear Tilda Swinton describe it, there will be a lot of surprises in Marvel’s Doctor Strange.
Speaking to EW about the upcoming magical superhero film, the actress said:
My home is in experimental cinema. I’ve always worked with people who are messing with stuff. Marvel is going to pull some sh– out no one’s ever seen before.
Swinton plays The Ancient One in the film. Her character trains Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) in magic after he suffers a devastating car crash.
For his part, Cumberbatch says he’s been giving the wrong answer when asked what Doctor Strange’s real super powers are. He told EW that Strange’s greatest character trait is his endurance.
This man reaches the very bottom and then more. You think, How much more can this guy take? He’s broken, he gets up again, he’s broken — and that’s really what makes him a superhero. A lot of people have asked me, ‘What makes him a superhero?’ That’s really the answer I should have given. It’s not the Cloak of Levitation. It;s not the Eye of Agamotto. It’s about his staying power. It’s a marathon and not a sprint. The guy endures so much.
Doctor Strange, also starring Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Benedict Wong, is in theaters on November 4, 2016.SuperFable
